wordpress 3.9 and repeatable tinymce editor problem solved.

If you are trying to add repeatable tiny mce in your metabox then here is solution http://www.kathyisawesome.com/426/multiple-wordpress-wysiwyg-visual-editors/.

You have to use Wpalchemy class.

Now the second part is that It will not work with wordpress 3.9(next stable version going to release in April).

Why?

Because they use new version of tinymce 4.x.

Don’t bother we have solution 🙂

Here is plugin http://wp-lovers.com/wpquestions/testplugin-new.zip

This test plugin have both javascript and it work in old and new versions of wordpress.
It may contain some unnecessary code you have to remove it :p

Now I afraid that this change in WordPress editor is going to break many plugins which use buttons to add shortcodes!!

  1. Thanks for this awesome plugin, I adapted it for my own site, and it is fantastic. But I do have a couple of questions:

    1. When clicking on the “distraction free writing button” on the right hand side of the editor, the resulting page only shows the main top default content area, not the area we are clicking from

    2. The editor does not have an html code button on it anywhere. I looking in your JS file and it does seem to be there, but it does not show up in the post edit areas. Any ideas?

    3. There is no resize handle on the editor. I tried to add one in that same 3.9 JS file, but it won’t show. Again, any ideas on what I can do?

    Thanks!!

  2. hi I submitted a question before, but perhaps it did not go through: Any idea how to make the full screen button work for each editor? Currently when clicked it only opens the default content area in full screen, not any of the others being clicked on.

Also: do you have any idea how to customize the buttons on the wysiwyg areas? Much of the code in your plugin example seems to not be applied at all to the new editor areas.

    Thanks!

    Stephen
